Note: There is a gap in time that becomes obvious when looking at my Exhibition Record. This was a period of time when working in my studio often became too difficult due to a serious back injury. These were periods of self-reflection and retrospect; sketching ideas, extensive reading, and a lot of thinking; even now there are times when I cannot work on the paintings. If you look at the sheer amount of writing in the "TEXTS," You can see what I often do laying on my back in place of it.
Again, let me say that the "visual," the paintings themselves, are the most important thing that I do and that I try very hard to keep the paintings a "visual experience" that hopefully needs no dialogue for understanding my motives for what I do in them.
